About The Artist
Janelle Muena (b.1993) is a Visual Artist, Art Teacher and a Community Worker born and raised in Baguio City. She works with different art mediums but found her passion in creating handmade and carefully crafted Resin Art pieces, preserving dried flowers from special occasions. She is also part of the team of Muralists creating big murals in her hometown and collaborates in creating beautiful murals for public elementary schools all over the Philippines. Her background in architecture plays a major role in her thought process as a creative, making detailed plans for her artworks that mark her identity as an artist.
"Rosas," Filipino term for Roses, is one of the most beloved flowers in art, literature and culture. It holds a significant symbolism in Filipino culture and is often associated with celebrations such as anniversaries, weddings, graduations, festivals, rituals and religious offerings.
In this collection, the design is inspired from overlapping rose petals preserved inside resin, a style that's different from the usual look of coasters, placemats and catch trays, available in Mabaya (Red), Bughaw (Blue) and Luntian (Green).
